Biden to call European allies over Ukraine

US President Joe Biden is hosting a video call with European allies as the threat of a Russian invasion into Ukraine intensifies.

It comes after the US ordered family members of American diplomats in Ukraine to evacuate.

The Pentagon press secretary has revealed there will be at least 8,500 US troops on heightened alert but not necessarily on standby.
