Lord Robertson reflects on NATO's response to 9/11

Lord George Robertson, NATO Secretary General from 1999 to 2004, reflects on the NATO response to the terrorist attacks against the United States on 11 September 2001. When it had been determined that the attacks had been coordinated by al-Qaeda from bases in Afghanistan, the Alliance invoked its collective defence clause for the first time in its history.
