The image, which was released on Wednesday, depicts a faraway Milky Way star located roughly 2,000 light-years away in the Ursa Major constellation in deep space. At this distance, light released by the star 2,000 years ago is only now reaching Earth, providing earthlings a close-up view of the star. 2MASS J17554042+6551277 is the name designated to the star by experts.
