At an event in Ottawa, the Green Party of Canada announces the results of its election to choose a new leader. Annamie Paul wins the leadership on the eighth ballot, defeating seven other candidates who were vying to replace Elizabeth May. The event also includes a tribute to, and remarks by, the former leader.
